CAMERA OPERATOR
DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY
Emma Djwa is a director of photography and filmmaker known for bringing clarity and beauty to the screen. Her cinematography has been featured at international festivals including Toronto, New York, and Miami. Most recently, the feature “Are We Done Now” (2025) won Emma a nomination at the 2025 Leo Awards for best feature cinematography, and took home awards at the SoHo International film festival. Inspired by her mixed-race upbringing in Vancouver, her storytelling spans from the Arctic to the desert, bringing grounded authenticity to the imagination of film. She is an Associate member of the Canadian Society of Cinematographers and an ICG 669 Operator. In her (rare) spare moments, Emma volunteers with the Canadian Society of Cinematographers as the Events Lead for Western Canada. Emma holds a BFA in Motion Picture Arts from Capilano University and lives on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples–Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, Stó:lō, Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh, and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm Nations.
